Statement of Candidacy
Spencer is pleased to accept the nomination as TAFSAA’s Private 4-Year Representative.
Professional Involvement
Spencer has been a member of TASFAA for 2 years and currently volunteers on both the TASFAA PR and Training committees. He also serves as a production assistant on the SASFAA “Swoon Pies & Money” Podcast as well as the co-chair of the Electronic Communications Committee within the Belmont University Staff Advisory Council.
Work Experience
Spencer Morris works at Belmont University as the Student Loan Counselor within the office of Student Financial Services where he is responsible for the awarding and disbursement of Federal Direct Student Loans along with student and family counseling regarding general financial aid. Spencer started his career in student financial aid at EdFinancial Services in 2015 where he assisted in default prevention outreach for a number of different educational institutions. From there, Spencer worked in One Stop Student Services at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville where he eventually managed a small team as a Student Services Supervisor. Spencer recently celebrated his 11th wedding anniversary with his wife, Morghan. They live in Hermitage with their big dogs named Atlas and Ino. They spend their free time watching moves, eating popcorn, and arguing about which university on Belmont Boulevard is the best.
