Statement of Candidacy
I am honored to submit my candidacy for the position of Secretary for the Tennessee Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (TASFAA). With a strong commitment to advancing the mission of TASFAA and supporting our colleagues in the financial aid community, I am eager to serve and appreciate your consideration for this vital role.
Professional Involvement
Membership in TASFAA spans more than a decade, with active participation in leadership and committee work. Current responsibilities include serving as the 2025–2026 Conference Co-Chair and member of the Government Relations Committee. Previous involvement includes serving as Community College Sector Representative and supporting annual conferences as a presenter and moderator. Engagement in these roles reflects a commitment to strengthening the profession and enhancing resources for students across Tennessee.
Work Experience
More than 15 years of experience in financial aid administration and student services provides a strong foundation for this position. Roles have included Financial Aid Assistant, Specialist, Coordinator, Manager, Director, and Success Coach, with responsibilities ranging from awarding and reconciling federal, state, and institutional aid to implementing compliance and quality control procedures. Leadership experience includes managing teams of up to 20 employees, coordinating cross-departmental student support, and utilizing systems such as Banner, BDMS, Argos, and federal platforms. Professional credentials through NASFAA and active participation in TASFAA and SASFAA further reinforce a commitment to excellence and collaboration.
I am passionate about fostering engagement within TASFAA and contributing to initiatives that strengthen our profession and support the students we serve.
